Denise Irakoze

Denise’s family emigrated to the United States from Tanzania when she was a little girl. While in school Denise was often teased by others because of the texture of her hair, her accent and the things she wore to school. Although these things caused her to feel bad, it did not stop Denise from pursuing her dreams, instead she used these experiences as “fuel” to work hard and graduate high school. Denise is currently attending the University of North Texas and will be pursuing her dream of owning her own cosmetology business one day.
