Olive Niyintunze

Because Olive’s last name is very uncommon in the United States, while she was going to school, she experienced many difficulties because other kids would make fun and make jokes about her name. At one point in her life she hated her name and was even embarrassed to hear her name when others said it. When she got older, she overcame this obstacle and is now loving her name and takes the time to teach people how to pronounce her name. Olive’s role model are her parents. They sacrificed so much to come to the United States and provide for her and her siblings needs. Her goal is to achieve a degree in Marketing and to one day buy her dream house.
